Actually, most bikes don't have a reserve tank section. Reserve is accomplished by a long pickup tube coming off of the petcock. Once the main fuel level falls below this, switching to reserve will uncover a small hole in the petcock body. Like Jim said, on most bikes, there is such a thing as bone dry.
